Do you have a card that you always see as a negative card to get? Have you ever thought about trying to find the positive aspect of it? Let’s see if we can do just that.
What I love about Tarot of the New Vision is that it gives us a peek at a situation by flipping the card’s perspective. I thought this would be the perfect deck to help illustrate this exercise. I selected the 10 of swords because it’s hard to see a positive perspective in a card like this. I mean really, the man is lying there with ten swords sticking out of his back. It’s so gloomy and depressing. But flip the view and we can see help is coming.
Even without seeing that figure approaching, we can see a few positive points. Numerologically, 10 follows the number of completion, 9, which means we are beginning again. And when we break it down more by combining the 1 and 0 of the 10, we form a 1…which is also representative of a new beginning.
Plus, the storm is starting to clear in the background and that’s another sign of things starting to pick up again.
So overall, yes, things have sucked when you get a card like this. But it’s a sign too that things will be changing for the better. Of course the other cards in the reading play into that, but you get the idea.
Your writing prompt: Pick a card you normally see as negative. Study the card, then write about any positive elements you can see in the card. Do you see the card differently now? Or will you still always see it as a negative one?
Then for a creative prompt, try this: The card you selected has come to you asking you to write a script for it. It wants to make a video plea to post on YouTube in hopes of getting the public to see it in a different light. “Come on, man, I’ve not really so bad.”
Write the script.
Enjoy!
